Users having proper rights can email a message to users in the approval list reminding them about approval requests.

When configured, the application is able to send approval requests automatically.

An additional way to notify an approval request consists of pre-formatted messages  automatically added to the JIRA comments.

By default he email's subject follows the convention below: Outgoing Email prefix - Project name / (Issue Key) Issue Summary / Source Workflow Status - Approval Required for 'Workflow Transition'.
