By default the e-mail notifying an Approval Request looks like as follow:
By default he email's subject follows the convention below: Outgoing Email prefix - Project name / (Issue Key) Issue Summary / Source Workflow Status - Approval Required for 'Workflow Transition'.
How to e-mailing an approval request

How to email an approval request

Depending by the setting applied on the Permissions Administration screen, the users enabled to notify an approval request can differ.
The users having proper rights can notify an approval request via email to
- all approvers requested on a workflow transition, by selecting the Apploval Transition via the Request Approval button
- the approvers requested by a single Approval, by clicking the Notify button
Comment notifying an approval request
When enabling the advanced setting Notify approvals via comment, the approval request is notified via a Jira comment that shows up on Jira Service Desk customer portal too.
The comment includes the following informations:
- Approval Name
- Guide line to approve, reject or abstain
- Link to customer support documentation
